Miguel Cáceres Casado

Graduated in Law from the University of Granada with a special mention in Business Law and top marks in Criminal Law. He continued his training in this discipline by taking postgraduate courses specialising in Economic Criminal Law at the Abat Oliba University in Barcelona and in Compliance at the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles in Madrid. He has also obtained the CESCOM Compliance Certification issued by ASCOM and is internationally recognised as a Compliance professional by IFCA. He completed his academic training by obtaining a Doctorate Degree in Law from the University of Barcelona, obtaining the maximum qualification Excellent Cum Laude for the thesis entitled: “Carousel Fraud and Corporate Criminal Liability. Criteria for the attribution of criminal liability and the application of compliance techniques”.

He began and developed his professional career in Barcelona in several prestigious boutiques as a criminal lawyer in the city, mainly in the field of economic crime and criminal liability of legal persons. In 2019 he moved to Madrid for good and joined Fuster-Fabra as an associate litigation lawyer, coordinating the compliance department. In close contact with the academic world, he is the author of various doctrinal articles, lectures and seminars on criminal law and compliance. He has also participated in the design and development of several Masters in criminal law. He currently holds the position of Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Barcelona.
